China

China is in eastern Asia and located on the western shore of the Pacific Ocean. It spreads over a vastly diverse geographical area of 9.6 million square kilometers. China is the third largest country in the world in terms of territory, only second to Russia and Canada. China is characterized by a continental climate. Most regions are with a mild climate and distinct seasons. China is the most populous country in the world; the population almost reaches 1.4 billion, which makes up 22% of the world total. Chinese is the official language, one of the five working languages designated by the United Nations. Now, China has the second largest economy in the world, contributed by the on-going open-up policies, the executed reforms and the established socialist market economy. China has had the fastest growing economy for the last 20 years. Most of the major cities have modern buildings and high technology facilities.

Transportation

Chinese transportation has experienced major growth and expansion in recent years. Chinese government is highly developing the airports, roads and railway construction. Railway is the primary mode of transport, and one of the cheapest ways to travel on some of the long distance routes in China. Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin have subway system. Other larger cities either have subway system under construction or are in planning stage. There are also regional buses and highway buses. Highway buses go almost everywhere, and they cover most the vast area except in the least populated region. Domestic flights are another good option. Since Chinese territory is wild, the domestic flights expand rapidly. You can fly to almost anywhere in China.
Healthcare

Healthcare in China consists of both public and private medical institutions and insurance programs. About 95% of the population has at least basic health insurance coverage. Despite this, public health insurance generally only covers about half of medical costs, with the proportion lower for serious or chronic illnesses. Many cities have direct access to hospitals and a range of medical services, but rural areas can be hours and even days away from the nearest clinic. Most of the Westerners do not seek treatment in a public hospital due to language barrier, slow service and long queues. In an attempt to bridge the gap between the quality of care at costly private hospitals and the bad service at public facilities, some public clinics have opened international wings. These exist as partnerships between the state and the private sector. Many of these share doctors with public facilities, but don't have to wait for long time. They also have a greater focus on customer care and treatments cost less than at private hospitals.
Education

China education is the largest education system in the world. The Chinese government has placed priority in developing education, putting forward the strategy of revitalizing the country through science and education, and making efforts to increase the reform of education system. The Ministry of Education estimates that 99.7% of the population area of the country has achieved universal 9 year basic education. China's school education includes pre-school, primary school, secondary school, high school, university and college, as well as graduate school education. China has a long history of providing education to international students studying in high school and universities. International students have enrolled in over 800 higher education institution all over the country. The number of international students studying abroad in China has increased in quantities every year.
